The unknown can make even the most exciting step feel a little daunting. If you've booked — or are considering — your first QHHT session, this is the guide I wish every client could read beforehand. My hope is that by the time you finish, the mystery gives way to quiet confidence.
First, the big picture
A QHHT session is not a quick appointment. We set aside a full day — typically 4 to 8 hours — because this work can't be rushed. That time isn't all hypnosis; much of it is conversation, connection, and trust-building. Think of it less like a medical procedure and more like a sacred, unhurried day devoted entirely to you.
You'll leave with a recording of your session, so you don't have to worry about remembering every word. The insights have a way of continuing to unfold for weeks afterward, and the recording lets you return to them again and again.
How to prepare
You don't need to do anything elaborate. But a few things help:
- Write your questions. This is the heart of your session. What do you most want to understand? It might be about your health, a relationship, your life's purpose, a recurring pattern, or a spiritual question that's been with you for years. Bring 10–20 if you can — we'll prioritize together. Not sure where to start? I've put together a list of questions for inspiration to get your thinking flowing.
- Rest and hydrate. Arrive having slept and eaten. A nourished, settled body relaxes more easily.
- Set an intention, then release expectations. It's natural to hope for a dramatic past-life movie. Sometimes that happens; sometimes the experience is subtler — feelings, symbols, knowings. All of it is valid, and your Higher Self always offers exactly what you need.
- Come as you are. You don't need to be "good at meditation" or spiritually advanced. Skeptics make wonderful clients. Curiosity is enough.
The session, step by step
1. We talk (a long, unhurried conversation)
We begin by getting to know each other. I'll ask about your life, your story, and what brought you here. We'll go through your list of questions together, refining them so your Higher Self can answer what matters most. This part matters as much as the hypnosis — trust is what makes the deeper work possible.
2. The induction (guiding you inward)
When you're ready, you'll lie down comfortably, and I'll gently guide you into a deeply relaxed state — the same theta brainwave state you naturally pass through every night as you drift to sleep. You won't be unconscious. You'll be aware, able to speak, and fully in control the entire time. Most people are surprised by how natural and safe it feels.
3. The journey (2–3 hours)
From that relaxed place, your subconscious shows you one to three scenes — often experienced as past lives, sometimes as symbolic or present-life memories. We explore them together: who you are, what's happening, what it has to teach. There's no "wrong" thing to see. Your inner mind chooses with precision.
4. Connecting with your Higher Self
This is the part many people find most profound. We invite the deepest, wisest part of you — what Dolores Cannon called the Higher Self — to speak directly. This is where your questions are answered and where healing is invited: the loosening of pain, the release of old emotion, the clarity you've been seeking.
5. Coming back and integrating
I'll gently bring you back, and we'll talk through what came up while it's fresh. You'll take your recording home with you.
What you might feel afterward
Everyone's different, but commonly:
- Lightness or relief, as if you set something down
- A reflective, dreamy quality for a day or two — be gentle with yourself
- Insights that keep arriving over the following weeks as your mind continues to integrate
Drink water, rest if you can, and give yourself a little space before diving back into a busy schedule.
A few honest reassurances
- You can't get "stuck." You're simply deeply relaxed, and you can open your eyes any time.
- You won't reveal anything against your will. Your subconscious is protective; it shares what serves you.
- There's no single "right" experience. Whether your session is cinematic or quiet, it's working.
Coming home to yourself
More than anything, I want your first session to feel safe. My role isn't to perform something on you — it's to hold steady space while you access the wisdom that's been inside you all along.
If you're feeling that pull, that quiet yes, I'd be glad to walk this path with you.
